SECRET FIRE GAMES is the home of The Secret Fire Roleplaying Game (also known as TSF RPG), created by Secret Fire Games and released at GenCon 2011.

We’re a micro-press based in NYC, although our staff are scattered across the USA and Europe. We are committed to producing quality games for reasonable prices: we don’t want to waste time creating splat books that are of no use to people beyond one game, or supplements that are so heavy on fluff and marketing that they are unusable. We want our games to be accessible to customers of all ages. We also wanted to make an RPG that felt dark and dangerous, where imminent peril lurked around every twist and turn…

The Secret Fire RPG has three distinguishing features: an emphasis on role-playing, fast and fun mechanics, and a play style that accommodates tactical and role-player gaming styles.

What Are Roleplaying Games?

Roleplaying games (RPGs) have been around for almost a 40 years, thanks to a man named E. Gary Gygax. A tabletop RPG is a social activity in which a group of people sit around a table and assume the roles of characters in a story about dark and dangerous expeditions in search of treasure or epic quests to save the world. The events takes place within your imagination, with success governed by your wits and your daring (and sometimes by your recklessness, foolhardiness, or combination thereof, depending on your character) plus, at times, a roll of the dice….

Since it’s a social activity, you’ll need a few friends, some odd-shaped dice (known as Platonic solids to the uninitated), and your imagination. You’ll also need a printed or PDF version of the rulebook (or access to the Secret Fire Codex app for iPhone), in order to play. In the end, though, the most important element of any RPG, especially THE SECRET FIRE, is creativity.
